August 2005 Club Meeting

Here are some images from a recent Woodworkers of Whittier meeting.  The staff of LRH demonstrated their Magic Molder product.  The Magic Molder is a molding cutter head for use on tablesaws and shapers.  They did a fine presentation and several members expressed interest in the product.  Also below are images of our monthly Show'n Tell session where members proudly display their creations.
Dutch Sills (left) and Curtis Hubert prepare to demonstrate the LRH Magic Molder.
Curtis leads off with his presentation.
The cutter buttons feature a clever snap and twist safety feature and are secured with a set screw.  A very safe design.  The cutters feature anti-kick back wings.
The fence is optional and can be used with either edge down on the table.
The fence can be used to hold a shop built template for cutting curved or arched moldings.
A lively question and answer period kept Curtis on his toes.
Hunter Smith looks over a few of the many molding samples which can be made with the Magic Molder.
Hunter and Andy Stanton take in a few more.
An overall display of the Show'n Tell woodworks.
Jay Anderson is all smiles showing his in-shop design stage coach.

A nice bandsaw box by John Okawa.
Lee Glasbrenner with his oak fly rod case for a client.  The base is removable to allow the case to be stood up in an 8' high room.  The case is uprighted, then lifted and the base is slipped under.  Woody Woodward shows us where his hair used to be.
An upholstered ottoman by Wilhelm Chaborski.  Wilhelm does the upholstery in addition to the woodworking.
A Scrollsaw plaque mounted over a colored background by Paul Sakalian.
