Recently Woodworkers Of Whittier was contacted by Friends of the Whittier Library, a group which raises funds in support of our local Library.  They were badly in need of new tables to sort and display their thousands of used books.  WOW designed and built three large heavy duty tables with book shelves as seen below.

This photograph is of the tables which have just been moved into place on the bookstore floor.  The base is built using 4 x 4 legs and 2 x 4 stretchers.  The tops are of MDF and the bracing is 1/2" plywood.  They easily handle the load.  There are two tables in the photograph above, and each measures 5 x 7 feet.  A third table not shown measures 7 x 9 feet.

Here you can see the tables loaded with books.  The vertical shelves were designed to hold common sized paperback books.  The shelves are also of MDF.
