Welcome …
Woodworkers of Whittier is a woodworking club that serves the greater Whittier area of Los Angeles County and North Orange County in California.
Through our club meetings and workshops, Woodworkers of Whittier (WoW) works to promote recreational woodworking. Club programs include, Members Helping Members, the club Lumberyard, and the monthly Pushstick newsletter. Programs such as these encourage sharing of skills, equipment, and materials between members.
Meetings include a woodworking related program, typically a demonstration or discussion, or perhaps a manufacturers representative. We cover a diverse range of topics. For example, topics have included tablesaw techniques, finishing, shaker box making, joinery, scrollsawing, sharpening, turning, routers and more. There is usually something of interest to every woodworker.
Other popular items on the meeting agenda are the monthly raffle, show-and-tell where members share their current projects, and of course refreshments. Most importantly, we have fun!
Woodworkers of Whittier meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM at the Whittier Community Center, 7630 Washington Ave., Whittier 90602. The Community Center is between cross streets Mar Vista and Walnut, one block west of Painter Avenue. MAP
Anyone interested in woodworking is welcome to attend. You do not have to be a member to attend meetings.
